Description

In this TikTok live stream we take a look at the basics of using the IMVU Toolkit for Blender to make a simple pose. First, access the Toolkit and create an Animation Tool project, this drops in a poseable version of the default avatars. For static poses, set Make Pose, and Export All Bones and enabled Auto Key – bone positions will be auto-inserted into the timeline. We can now create a pose by manipulating the avatar in Pose Mode. Once this is done we can export for IMVU and assemble in Studio using the Empty Mood (PID 10945930) as the test product to make sure the pose works correctly.

Design note: some additional considerations to keep in mind working with the IMVU Toolkit for Blender;

Toolkit Install

The Toolkit is provided by IMVU as a self-contained ZIP file/archive. Different versions are available for Blender, 3DS Max and Maya and more-or-less function the same way regardless of the application (UI differences not withstanding). The ZIP file DOES NOT NEED TO BE EXTRACTED – this is IMPORTANT. To install, in Blender Preferences under Addons, click Install, locate the *.zip and load. Blender will automatically install the file and create the necessary components needed. For more information on installing the Toolkit, see below;
